Get a dedicated business number that handles calls and text messages through Complete Office Suite, with AI call answering. Keep your personal number private and manage every conversation in one place.
A virtual business phone number looks and works like any other business phone number, but it is not tied to a physical line, a handset or a SIM card. Calls and text messages are routed over the internet to Complete Office Suite, where you manage them.
That separation is the point. Instead of putting your personal mobile number on the website, the van, the invoice or a directory listing, you publish your business number. Your customers reach the business, and you stop handing out the number you use for everything else.
It also means your business number is not tied to one device. If you change phones, lose a handset or take on staff, the number stays the same and the conversation history stays with the business.
Text messaging runs through your business number, so a customer can reply to a message and the conversation continues in the same place. Replies are grouped by customer, which means the history sits next to that customer's record rather than on whoever's phone happened to send it.
Texting capability depends on the number you choose. Carriers do not enable SMS on every number type or in every country, so Complete Office Suite checks each number's capabilities before you order it. Numbers that cannot send and receive texts are excluded from search results unless you ask for voice-only.
If a number cannot text, you are told before you pay rather than after — and the number's inbox shows exactly which capabilities it has.
Confirmed per number with the carrier. Not every number supports every capability.
Calls to your business number can be answered by an AI receptionist that knows your business. It works from the knowledge, services, prices and instructions you provide, so it can answer questions, take details, and book appointments where booking is switched on.
Calls are handled when you are on a job, with another customer, or closed for the day. When a call ends, the enquiry is captured with the caller's details so it appears in your account rather than sitting in a voicemail box nobody checks.
Where a number is set up for voicemail, calls are answered and recorded. Capturing those voicemails, transcribing them and summarising them automatically is still being built — it is not available yet, and we label it as coming soon rather than describing it as live.
Most small businesses give customers a mobile number because it is the only line they have. That number ends up on the website, in directory listings and on invoices, and it is the same number family and friends use.
A dedicated business number separates the two. Customers call and text the business number; you decide when you are available. When you sell the business, take on staff or change your phone, the business number stays with the business.
Businesses often need a separate number to receive one-off verification messages or verification calls when setting up accounts and services. Compatible business numbers can receive those messages.
It is important to be realistic about this: the service sending the code decides which number types it accepts, and many services deliberately block virtual numbers. We cannot promise that any particular service will accept your business number, and we do not guarantee universal compatibility.
If receiving verification messages matters to you, check the number's incoming text capability before ordering, and test it with the specific service you need before you rely on it.
The subscription, the one-off setup fee, the monthly number rental and communications usage are separate charges. Nothing is bundled into a single figure, and a free or included subscription period never makes the number or its usage free.
Cancel any time on 30 days' notice. Cancelling Business Numbers never cancels a Complete Office Suite package, and your message history and recordings are kept.
